Remember the Super Bowl?

Commercials?

If you happened to miss the Commercial Bowl, I mean Super Bowl, there was a beautiful pro-life ad paid for by Focus on the Family, titled "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life", here it is:

Here is the Pre-game advertisement...a little more loving :)

If you are unaware of the football quarterback star featured in the above ads, his name is Tim Tebow. You can check out a brief of his bio & history here. In particular the first two paragraphs about his "Early Years". Simply put, Mrs. Tebow chose LIFE, when doctors advised her to choose an abortion, despite many great odds that she or her child would survive. She and her family must have placed tremendous trust in God.....and to see the results....I'm left speechless.....simply astounding. Tim was also home schooled by the way....... ;)

I recently received a letter from the President of Focus on the Family, Jim Daly, about the aftermath of the ad. And it read:

"Dear Mr. & Mrs. S, I'm eager to share some exciting news with you. In this month's edition of Family Focus, you're going to meet a new friend of the ministry. Anna's story came to us completely unsolicited but it has since sent a shockwave through our halls here on the campus in Colorado Springs.

If you ever wondered if a mere 30 seconds could change the direction of a life -- or mean the difference between life and death itself -- you'll have your answer after reading the enclosed story. I don't want to give away the details, but it centers on the advertisement that Focus on the Family ran during this year's Super Bowl telecast.

Some might be wondering why a nonprofit Christian ministry would wade into the waters of a multi-million dollar ad campaign. Anna's story is why; but so is the overall response to the commercial. The aftermath of the campaign has illustrated for us what the Lord can do if we're blessed with the necessary resources and are willing to step out in faith and engage the culture in creative ways.

From the very beginning, our goal of the project was twofold. First, it was designed to drive Super Bowl viewers to the Focus website where they could learn more about the sancitiy and beauty of life. The second goal was to spark a national dialogue, which would allow us to respectfully and thoughtfully witness about Jesus Christ in a gentle spirit of humility.

So, how have things turned out? Let me share some astronomical figures with you:

Nearly 100 million people watched the ad, and well over 2.4 million people visited our website the next few days after the game, where a behind-the-scenes video of the spot was featured. When all the media reports from TV, radio, internet and newspaper are tallied, the number of "impressions" it made is currently estimated at over 6 million! The "earned media" calculation, which is the amount of money we would have to invest to make the same impression, is nearly $32 million.

Most importantly, the "Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life" ad has changed the direction of precious lives. According to reasearch data, the 30-second spot caused over 5 million people to reevaluate their stand on the value of human life.

I hope you'll read along this month about "Anna" and several other topics that promise to offer practical help for your family and marriage."

The following touching story is from the "Family Focus" April 2010 newsletter:

Like more than 106 million other Americans, Anna (name has been changed to protect her privacy) tuned in to see the Super Bowl on February 7th.

But that Sunday, Anna held a painful secret in her heart: she was unmarried, pregnant and about to have an abortion. Then, during a commercial break, Anna saw the Focus on the Family ad.

"I Saw the ad during the Super Bowl and it stuck in my head," Anna says. "I felt like the commercial was made to reach out to me.

"Later that week, I found the ad online and watched it over and over. I felt drawn to reach out to you and I'm so glad I did. You may think that all you did was email me back, but you did so much more than that.

"You gave me hope and encouragement. You reminded me that I can't be perfect, but God loves me.

"You also game me a wakeup call: I was always trying to make other people happy. I kept thinking that unless I have an abortion, [the baby's father] won't be happy.

"Well, you put the focus back where it belongs. It's all about what will make God happy.

"I'm scared. I have a lot to figure out. The father is mad and says I'm ruining his life. I can't control his feelings. I can only protect the baby.

"Your organization, through the Super Bowl ad and your thoughtful email, saved this baby's life. I have no doubt about that. And in the process, maybe you saved my soul too.

"Words cannot express my gratitude, but thank you, thank you, thank you."

Praise God for this saved life and for Anna's changed heart! Will you please join us in continuig to pray for Anna, for her baby, and for the baby's father?

I echo the "PRAISE GOD!" Even if, this was the only child saved by that commercial, PRAISE BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY. That life was worth every cent.
