they broke?

Oscar had a little shop set up & was selling some handmade bookmarks for 6 cents on the stairs. I checked my wallet for coins, figuring I didn't have any, but I checked anyway. I unzipped the pocket of my wallet and found no coins......I said "I don't even have one single coin, I have zero coins. I'm broke".....Gabi, who was standing at my feet, looked up & questioned "day (they) broke?" I laughed & swept her off her feet to kiss her for making me laugh & smile (: She laughed along too (: so cute!
